Research

gain new perspectives

“If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?” – Albert Einstein

To make a difference and grow, we need to constantly research and gain new perspectives, knowledge & insights. The Institute has been at the forefront of design thinking and education in Ireland for over 40 years and our design alumni have contributed greatly to Irish economy & society. In 2009, designCORE was established to provide a critical bridge between emergent design research and intervention to impact & benefit industry. DesignCORE is now located at the newly opened Dargan Research Centre on the campus of SETU Carlow, from where our dedicated academic & design support team work with academic, commercial & agency partners.
